The Sports Facilities Department is dedicated to providing a diverse range of sports activities by offering integrated sports facilities that are equipped to accommodate various sports events and courses. This initiative promotes a healthy lifestyle among students, faculty members, and external beneficiaries. The department is also committed to establishing guidelines and regulations that ensure the optimal use of the facilities during sports activities. Furthermore, it develops well-planned expansion strategies aimed at achieving diversity in activities and excellence in sports management.
Sports Facilities
Aquatic Sports Complex (A04)
The Aquatic Sports Complex (A04) is a state-of-the-art facility at Qatar University, designed to international standards for training, competitions, and wellness programs. It provides a professional environment for students, athletes, and the community to engage in aquatic sports and fitness activities.
Facilities:
- Olympic Outdoor Pool (8 lanes): Built and designed to meet international standards, ideal for official competitions and high-level training.
- Diving Pool (5-meter depth): Equipped with platforms of various heights to suit different levels of diving training.
- Training Pool (1.5-meter depth): Designed for daily workouts and swim lessons for beginners and intermediates.
- Modern Changing Rooms: Fully equipped to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for users.
- Sauna Rooms: Promote muscle relaxation and aid recovery after physical activity.
- Hot and Cold Jacuzzis: Support circulation and enhance athletic recovery.
- Fitness Gym: Outfitted with the latest cardio and resistance machines, offering an inspiring space for students and staff to maintain high levels of health and fitness.
Services Provided:

Sports and Events Complex (A07)
The Sports and Events Complex (A07) is a premier athletic facility at Qatar University. Featuring advanced infrastructure and diverse sporting spaces, the complex serves students, University teams, and the University community at large.
Facilities:
- Multi-purpose indoor halls for futsal, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and more.
- Specialized courts for tennis, squash, CrossFit, athletics, and fitness.
- Indoor running/walking track suitable for year-round training.
- Meeting rooms and event spaces for workshops and sports events.
- Seating and rest areas for visitors and participants.
- Cafeteria for students, staff, and guests.
- Physiotherapy clinic for medical support and sports rehabilitation.
- Labs and classrooms: Exercise Physiology, Biochemistry, Nutrition, Motor Learning, and Biomechanics Labs.
- Two control rooms for AV support during hosted events.
Female Students’ Gymnasium (D03)
The Female Students’ Gymnasium (D03) is a dedicated facility for female students at Qatar University, offering a safe and comprehensive space to engage in various sports activities. The gym is equipped to the highest standards to ensure privacy and full support for women’s sports on campus.
Facilities:
- Main multi-purpose court for futsal, basketball, handball, volleyball, and tennis.
- Four enclosed and secure padel courts designed for female students.
Female Student Sports Facilities Building (F19)
The F19 building offers a variety of specialized sports facilities for female students, combining indoor and outdoor activities in a fitness-promoting environment.
Facilities include:
- Fully equipped fitness center with modern machines/tools for individual and group workouts.
- Indoor squash court with advanced equipment.
- Outdoor courts for volleyball, basketball, and tennis.
The F19 building supports sports engagement for female students from all colleges.
Outdoor Courts (A03)
The Outdoor Courts (A03) represent a vital open-air sports area at Qatar University, offering a multi-purpose space for group and individual sports activities.
Facilities include:
- Four Padel courts fully equipped for training and competition.
- Standard-spec outdoor tennis courts for students and teams.
- Outdoor basketball and volleyball courts for daily use and tournaments.
Qatar University Stadium (A01)
The Qatar University Stadium (A01) is one of the University’s premier sports facilities, serving as a central venue for official matches, tournaments, and major athletic events. It supports a wide range of student and University sports, acting as a hub for athletic development and community engagement through sport.
Facilities include:
- Main grass pitch built to international specifications, used for football matches and University events.
- Indoor training hall designated for team preparation and performance training.
- Sports Affairs Lecture Hall for sports-related meetings, lectures, and workshops.
