• * Non-Qatari applicants are required to meet the minimum English and mathematics requirements as a mandatory requirement for applying to the college, while Qatari applicants who do not meet these requirements can enrol in the Foundation program.
• ** All applicants are required to meet the minimum English and mathematics requirements as a mandatory requirement for applying to the College of Medicine and College of Dental Medicine.
• High school graduates will be accepted based on the educational tracks starting in Fall 2021.
• High school graduates from Qatar Technical School will be accepted into colleges that accept the Scientific track.
• High school graduates from Qatar Banking Studies and Business Administration will be accepted into colleges that accept the Arts and Humanities track.
• High school graduates from Qatar Science and Technology School will be accepted into colleges that accept the Scientific track.
• High School track will be taken into consideration when applying to QU for Private and International School Certificates. For more information please visit High School Applicants page.

Selecting a Major

1. Students are admitted into their college's general program at the time of admission to Qatar University.
2. Students may seek to declare their major, after meeting the minimum academic requirements. Admission to the major is extremely competitive; and satisfying the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission into the major.
3. Majors are open to QU students provided that:
4. They meet the admission requirements for the major.
5. They pass the Foundation Program requirements, if applicable.
6. The department offering the major approves the major declaration based on department capacity.
7. Students may declare and pursue only one major.
8. Students should declare their selected major before completing 36 undergraduate credit hours.
9. At least half of the credit hours required to complete the major must be taken in residence at QU.
10. A student must complete the graduation requirements for a Bachelor's degree at Qatar University in order to receive recognition for the completed major.
11. The only recognition delivered by the University for a major completed by a student consists of the appearance of the major on the student's official transcript at the time of graduation and the student graduation statement.

High School Percentage or Track Exception

Students who do not meet the required high school percentage or specific educational track may still apply to their desired college or major, provided they have completed twelve years of formal education and met the minimum admission requirements at Qatar University, as follows:

Applicants to the Colleges of Arts and Sciences (Arts majors), Business and Economics, Education, Sharia and Islamic Studies, Law, and Sport Sciences:

Applicants to the Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dental Medicine, Nursing, Arts and Sciences (Science majors), Education (Math & Science), Health Sciences, Engineering, or those requesting a track exception must meet the following:

The relevant university department will evaluate such applications based on the applicant's academic level, the capacity of the desired major, and any additional criteria set by the college or academic department.
