Does Qatar University offer academic scholarships for graduate-level students?
Qatar University does not offer academic scholarships for graduate-level students.
How can I apply for a student visa to attend QU and arrive in Qatar?
You must Apply Online for the student visa and upload the Required Documents during the given timeline in each semester. Applicants who fail to satisfy the requirements for a student visa will not be considered for admission to QU.
When should I apply for a student visa?
You must apply for student visa and submit all requested documents during the given timeline in each semester for international students.
Can I have a family visa to bring my family or my dependents to Qatar during my study?
The student visa is valid for the student ONLY; it will not give the student the privilege to sponsor any of the family members to come to Qatar under the student sponsorship.

I am accepted into one of the Graduate level programs and already received a Graduate Assistantship (GA); when I apply for the student visa, shall I provide all the financial supporting documents?
Yes, you should apply for a student visa and provide the required documents and financial supporting documents.
As a scholarship applicant, should I apply for a student visa as well?
In case the applicant does not have a financial sponsor, no need to apply for the student visa as a paying fee student.
As a current student, may I transfer my resident permit from QU to another sponsor?
Yes, ONLY after graduation for undergraduate and graduate students can transfer their RP from QU to the father/brother/husband (personal sponsor) or a company. The student must contact the Scholarship and International Admissions Section directly. Students in the Arabic for Non-Native Speaker Program (ANNS) are not allowed to transfer their RP after graduation and must cancel their resident permit and travel after the graduation ceremony.
I did not get accepted at Qatar University at the Undergraduate level, can I get my original certificate and documents by post?
Yes, you can by contacting Admission email.
I don’t have a Qatari ID number, what should I enter when I fill out and apply for the online admission application?
For International students who do not hold a valid State of Qatar residence permit, please enter your birth date followed by 3 zeros (000) when filling the Qatari ID number field.
I have a visit visa, can I use my visa number instead of the QID number when I apply for the online admission application?
No, please enter 11 zeros (00000000000).
What are the eligible conditions to apply for the Arabic for Non-Native Speaker Program?

Is it required to submit an IELTS certificate before applying for a student visa?
Please note that getting the IETLS is optional, but it may support the student application if available. If the applicant get 5.5 and above, he/she should submit the original certificate to the Foundation Program via post office.
How to transfer my resident permit to Qatar University to complete my studies?
By visiting the university website / international students website / Student Visa / Apply for Residence Permit Transfer complete the form and upload the required documents.
I applied online and I did not get the acceptance, how could I get back the online fees for the admission application?

How often will international scholarship students be provided with a return ticket to their home country?
Scholarship students who are eligible for an annual ticket will receive a round-trip ticket after completing their final exams in the Spring semester every year, allowing them to travel during the summer vacation.
As a self-funded international student, when should I pay all my fees?
Self-funded international students must settle all due fees after the add/drop period and before the commencement of the next academic semester.
As an international student, how long can I stay in Qatar after graduation?
International students must settle their residence permits either by cancelling or transferring them to another sponsor after graduation. If opting to cancel the permit and leave Qatar, students can stay for up to 5 days after receiving their graduation statement. For transferring the residence permit, required documents must be submitted within one month after final exams, and complete the transfer process within 2 months.
As a Qatar resident, how long can I stay out of Qatar continuously without affecting my residence permit?
Qatar residents can stay out of the country continuously for up to a maximum period of 180 days if their residence permit is valid. Beyond 180 days, an entry permit is required before completing 360 days or before the residence permit expires, whichever comes first.
Can a self-funded international student apply for a scholarship after enrolling in the university?
Yes, as a self-funded international student, you can apply for Outstanding Performance Scholarship. You may check the requirements for application for this scholarship in the Scholarship page| Qatar University.
