Bringing Your Family (over 90 days)

If you wish to bring your family members (spouse and children only, other family members are not applicable) to live with you more than 90 days in Japan, please prepare necessary documents below and submit them to the Tokyo Regional Immigration Services Bureau to obtain Certificate of Eligibilities (Dependent). Getting the Certificate of Eligibilities and sending them to your family members make the visa application process relatively quick.

Necessary Documents (for obtaining the "Dependent" status for your family)

\ - *1. All documents must be written in Japanese or English. If they are written in any other languages, attach a Japanese or English translation. - *2. Submitted documents to the Immigration Bureau will not be returned.\ Please refer to the Immigration Services Agency website below: https://www.moj.go.jp/isa/applications/status/dependent.html

Bringing Your Family (within 90 days)

If you wish to bring your family members to Japan for short term visit of 90 days or less, they will need to obtain "Short-Term Stay" visa before entering Japan. (However if your family members are from 68 countries and regions for the visa exemptions arrangement listed in the link below, they do not need to apply for the "Short-Term Stay" visa.) In the case please send the following documents to your family, and your family submit both documents from you and other documents which your family prepares (passport, photo, visa applications etc.) directly to the Japanese Embassy/Consulate to obtain "Short-Term Stay" visa.
