School of Medicine / Graduate School of Medicine

Nagoya University’s oldest school, the School of Medicine has its roots in a hospital and medical training facility that was founded by Aichi Prefecture’s predecessor, the Nagoya Domain, in 1871. Building on this 150 years of history, the School of Medicine operates on four basic principles:

Occupying the Tsurumai and Daiko campuses, the School of Medicine offers courses in medicine and health sciences including nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and medical laboratory science. It also operates the Nagoya University Hospital, a fully-equipped 1,080 bed teaching and research hospital which also serves as one of the key medical centers in the Tokai region.
