What sparked your interest to pursue research in your chosen program?
My interest in pursuing research in the Graduate School of Medicine was sparked by my fascination with how genetic and protein-level changes influence disease mechanisms. I am motivated to explore these questions through experimental research in biological science. I chose Nagoya University because it is a highly respected institution with a strong research environment, and its English-based program offers an excellent opportunity to engage in international scientific exchange while developing my skills in a globally competitive setting.

What kind of research you do currently?
I received my bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology. During my studies, I became fascinated by how small changes at the genetic and protein level can profoundly impact cellular behavior and health. Currently, I am conducting research in molecular oncology, focusing on the role of specific proteins in gene regulation and their impact on cancer-related pathways. I aim to better understand the molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis and contribute to future therapeutic strategies.
What has been the most memorable research experience in your studies so far?
The most memorable research experience in my studies so far was the first time I successfully confirmed a result after many failed attempts. It taught me patience, persistence, and the importance of careful planning in science. That moment of discovery gave me great confidence and reminded me why I chose research—to contribute to knowledge through steady effort and curiosity. It remains a strong motivation for me to continue pursuing scientific challenges with determination.
What message would you like to share with someone considering pursuing research at Nagoya University?
For anyone considering pursuing research at Nagoya University, I would say, since the program is conducted in English, it is a good opportunity for international students and it encourages global perspectives. If you are curious, motivated, hardworking, and eager to challenge yourself, Nagoya University is an excellent place to advance your research journey. While adapting to the local culture may take some time, it ultimately becomes a valuable part of the learning experience.
