The Center for Asian Legal Exchange (CALE) at Nagoya University is dedicated to assisting Asian countries in developing legal systems that support nation-building efforts. Since the 1990s, many socialist countries have transitioned to market economies, necessitating the creation of new legal frameworks to promote fair markets, establish the rule of law, democracy, and protect human rights.
CALE engages in comprehensive research on Asian legal systems, offering legal assistance and educational support to foster sustainable development across the region. The center collaborates with governments, academic institutions, and legal professionals to provide training programs and resources tailored to the unique needs of each country.
