Tsinghua SEM ranks 4th in FT's 2025 Masters in Management list

2025-09-09

On Monday, the Financial Times released its 2025 ranking of Masters in Management programs, in which Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management (Tsinghua SEM) has risen to fourth place globally with its Master in Management (MiM) program. The program has also once again secured its position as Asia's number one program, setting a new record for Asian institutions in this prestigious ranking. Since joining the FT rankings in 2021, Tsinghua SEM has demonstrated robust momentum, repeatedly leading Asian institutions to new heights in the global standings.

This achievement reflects the program's success in identifying global trends and market needs through a structured curriculum, scenario-based practical learning, an international ecosystem, and data capability development. The program is dedicated to equipping students with solid theoretical knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, forward-looking strategic insight, and sustainable innovative competence. It prepares versatile management talents who possess both strong technical expertise and a broad international perspective to meet diverse challenges in a complex global environment.

The program's excellence is further demonstrated through its outstanding performance across several key metrics:

The program's innovative curriculum integrates data intelligence with management education, offering hands-on learning experiences through collaborations with leading companies such as Cartier, McKinsey, Airbus, DiDi, Kuaishou, and Nestlé. Students engage in real-world business challenges, applying advanced analytical tools to solve practical problems while developing strategic decision-making capabilities in complex environments. This industry-connected approach ensures graduates possess both technical proficiency and business acumen highly valued in today's digital economy.

With its global outlook, the program emphasizes shaping global perspectives by offering international exchange opportunities at 32 CEMS partner schools worldwide. Through a multifaceted approach, students gain access to top-tier educational resources from both domestic and international institutions, expanding their academic horizons in diverse learning environments. This immersive experience fosters cross-cultural thinking and enables students to absorb management wisdom from economies at different development stages. By engaging with international faculty and peers, students stimulate innovation through intellectual exchange and firsthand exposure to varied business ecosystems and cultural contexts.

Rooted in openness and inclusivity, the program breaks disciplinary barriers in student recruitment, attracting outstanding candidates from top-tier universities and diverse academic backgrounds such as STEM, humanities, and the arts. The program also draws exceptional international students from leading global institutions such as Columbia University and LSE, creating a vibrant platform integrating Chinese and Western educational excellence. Through close collaboration between domestic and international cohorts, students gain cross-cultural insights, practical business perspectives, and interdisciplinary management expertise, fostering innovative thinking in a globally engaged environment.

Since its establishment, Tsinghua SEM's MiM program has actively encouraged students to pursue cutting-edge careers in data analysis, business intelligence, and big data management, empowering industrial advancement in the digital economy with systematic thinking. Simultaneously, the program strongly supports global career development, enabling students to bring management expertise and solid skills refined in China to the international stage. Alumni success stories exemplify this global impact: Recent graduates have launched innovative cross-border platforms, led digital transformation initiatives at Fortune 500 companies, and pioneered sustainable business models across emerging markets. Whether contributing to multinational operations or international organizational collaboration, they demonstrate the unique value of Chinese management models and drive innovative, multidisciplinary solutions to take root across the world.
