1. Current Border Control Measures (Updated on April 28, 2023)

Those arriving in Japan on or after April 29, 2023 are not required to bring a valid vaccination certificate or pre-departure COVID-19 test certificate. For more details, please refer to the link below.

2. Visit Japan Web (Updated on May 9, 2023)

The Visit Japan Web service allows you to complete immigration and customs declaration procedures online. In accordance with the Japanese government’s policy, Tohoku University ask all international students to use this service.

3. Support Services

To help students start their life in Japan smoothly, the International Support Center provides various support services including assistance with ward office procedures and opening a bank account.
