[Message from Tohoku University] February 16th, 2022
To Tohoku University international students awaiting entry to Japan First, let me thank you all for working patiently on your online studies while waiting out the immigration embargo, which has prevented most new international students from entering Japan. The latest reports indicate that the Japanese government is considering lifting the immigration restrictions for international students and loosening entry limitations from March. They are also discussing revising the upper limit on entries and shortening the post-arrival quarantine period. This has given us hope that you all will be able to come to Japan shortly. We will inform immediately once we receive more detailed information. Each of you is an important member of the Tohoku University community, and we will continue to strongly lobby the Japanese government and related organizations to enable us to welcome you to our campus as soon as possible. Also, MEXT and a number of Japanese universities have set up a website for international students who are waiting to enter Japan (https://www.jv-campus.org/en/intl-box/). 2022年ねん2月がつ16日にち 渡日予定とにちよていの東北大学留学生とうほくだいがくりゅうがくせいの皆みなさまへ 外国人がいこくじんの新規入国しんきにゅうこくの原則停止げんそくていしが続つづくなか、皆みなさんがオンラインを活用かつようした学習がくしゅうや研究活動けんきゅうかつどうに懸命けんめいに取とり組くんでいることに感謝かんしゃします。 最近さいきんの報道ほうどうにて、「日本国政府にほんこくせいふは新規入国停止しんきにゅうこくていしを解除かいじょし、３月がつからの入国制限にゅうこくせいげんの緩和かんわに向むけた検討けんとうを進すすめる」と報ほうじられています。 今後こんご、入国者数にゅうこくしゃすうの上限見直じょうげんみなおししや入国後にゅうこくごの待機期間たいききかんの短縮たんしゅくなども検討けんとうされるとのことです。 皆みなさんさんをお迎むえできることへの期待きたいが大おおきくなっています。さらに詳くわしい情報じょうほうが分わかりましたらいち早はやくお知しらせします。 東北大学とうほくだいがくではコミュニティーの大切たいせつな一員いちいんである皆みなさんを１日いちにちでも早はやく東北大学とうほくだいがくのキャンパスにお迎むかえることができるよう 引ひき続つづき日本政府にほんせいふや関係者かんけいしゃに対たいして強つよく働はたらきかけを行おこなっていきます。 また、文部科学省もんぶかがくしょうと日本にほんの各大学かくだいがくでは日本にほんへの留学りゅうがくを心待こころまちにする留学生りゅうがくせいに向むけた特設とくせつページ(https://www.jv-campus.org/en/ intl-box/)を開設かいせつしています。 東北大学とうほくだいがくからもキャンパスの紹介しょうかいやオンライン交流こうりゅうイベントなどのお知しらせ(https://www.jv-campus.org/en/intl-box-comm/))などの コンテンツを提供ていきょうしていますので、こちらも是非ぜひご覧らんください。
