渡日予定の東北大学留学生の皆様へ\
\
\
　留学生を含む外国人に対する日本政府による新規入国停止措置により、皆さんが日本に来ることが出来ずに待ち続けていることに、私たちは、大変心を痛めています。\
　私たちは、留学生の皆さんを仙台に受け入れ一緒に学び研究を進めることが、「門戸開放」を掲げる研究大学である東北大学にとって非常に重要と考えています。そのため、東北大学は、他大学とも協力して、皆さんの日本入国が可能となるよう日本政府や関係者に対して強く働きかけを行ってきました。最近の報道では、日本政府は留学生の入国について、段階的に認めることを検討する、と報じられています。これは、部分的ではありますが、私たちの要望が反映されたものです。東北大学は、引き続き早期の留学生の日本入国再開を強く要望していきます。また、日本への入国停止措置が解除され次第、一日でも早く皆さんの来日が叶うよう万全の受け入れの態勢を準備しています。\
　私たちは、皆さんが東北大学の学生としてオンラインで授業を受け、セミナー/ゼミナールや研究活動を強い意志で継続していることに敬意を表します。私たちは、引き続きこれからも皆さんの学びを全力で支援していきます。東北大学では、[留学生オンラインヘルプデスク](https://www.insc.tohoku.ac.jp/english/support/international-student-help-desk-jp/)を開設しています。皆さんが何か困ったことがあった場合には、いつでも気軽に相談してください。
