Subjects related to Energy have always fascinated me. Hence, I have increased my motivation and knowledge in this field since my undergraduate studies. During my BSc at the University of Campinas (Brazil) and Technical University of Munich (TUM), I was able to expand my knowledge in several areas of Electrical Engineering, such as electronics, energy, programming, and mathematical modeling. But, after finishing my undergrad studies, I have decided to seek a new challenge in my life. Therefore I have started to look more carefully to the Sustainability thematic.

Searching for the best MSc courses related to this subject, I have found the Energy for Sustainability - EfS (MIT/Portugal) Initiative. The course agenda, the University of Coimbra (UC) reputation, and the faculty, all together, have drawn my attention. Therefore I have chosen to become a student in this institution. At UC, I am experiencing a very practical course that presents the most novel approaches developed worldwide in terms of economic, technology and environment in order to build a more sustainable society. Moreover, the EfS goes beyond the classes, as the students have the chance to participate in many events, such as workshops, guided visits, and talks. For instance, I have been in MIT to participate in a workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

From my point of view, there is no plan B when we are dealing with Earth. Therefore, an Initiative as the EfS is crucial to maintain the development of future generations.
