  2. Advisors: Faculty members who meet the Ministry's (NSTC) qualifications for Principal Investigator (PI) of specific research projects and are willing to provide research equipment (including instruments and library facilities) to guide students in research work. However, faculty members who have previously supervised students in this program but failed to submit research reports are not eligible to serve as advisors. (Each advisor is limited to supervising two students per year).

II. Research Duration:

From July 1 of each year to the end of February of the following year, totaling eight months.

III. Online Application System:

The NSTC provides an online system for the preparation of the undergraduate student research project application, which includes:

  1. Data entry for Form C801.
  2. Downloading blank Word files for Form C802 and Form C803.

IV. Submission Process:

After the applicant completes the form and uploads all attachments, the application must be submitted to the Department/Institute Case Officer. The applicant may log in to the system at any time to check the status of the application. Once confirmed by the Department/Institute Case Officer, the Advisor must upload the "Advisor's Preliminary Evaluation Form" and check the box for compliance with Academic Ethics. After the Advisor agrees and submits the compiled application, an Application Barcode Number will be generated.

V. Funding Items:

  1. Research Stipend: NT$6,000 per month per student; totaling NT$48,000 for eight months.
  2. Consumables, Goods, Books, and Miscellaneous Expenses: Subsidized based on the actual needs of the research project, with a maximum subsidy of NT$20,000 per project.

VI. Important Notices:

  1. Once the research project is approved for funding by the NSTC, the applicant institution, advisor, student, budget, and execution period shall not be changed, except for special circumstances approved by the NSTC.
  2. To avoid network congestion, please complete the online application well before the University's internal deadline.
  3. To encourage undergraduate students to apply for this project, the University has established the "Regulations Governing the Encouragement of Undergraduate Students of National Chengchi University to Apply for NSTC Research Projects." Please refer to the relevant regulations for details.
  4. In accordance with Paragraph 3, Article 14 of the "Regulations Regarding People from the Mainland Area Studying at Junior Colleges or Institutions of Higher Education in Taiwan," central government agencies and their affiliated agencies (institutions) shall not budget for scholarships or financial aid for students from the Mainland Area. As the University cannot use central government subsidies for such scholarships, applications from students from the Mainland Area cannot be accepted for this grant.
