Advanced Materials Research Laboratory

The Advanced Materials Research Laboratory is a general user facility for material synthesis, characterization, and testing. It houses a number of high-end systems, like X-ray Diffractometer (XRD), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), micro-Raman, Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). The lab specializes in dry and non-destructive analysis in areas such as cultural heritage and archaeometry, as well as nano- and micro-scale materials for energy and environmental applications. AMRL provides training opportunities for researchers and technicians in different analytical techniques. It also engages with the community by providing consultation and training services to municipalities, forensic labs, environmental agencies, museums, energy sector, among others. \ \

Mission:

AMRL mission is to serve the research and development activities at the University of Sharjah and local community through utilizing various microstructural characterization techniques for the analysis of materials and developing new materials. The lab is equipped to characterize materials related to energy, environment, health, and cultural heritage. \ \
