About
CDAC undertakes internationally leading research in carefully chosen areas based on the center’s expertise targeting both software and hardware solutions in this multi-faceted application areas. The center has focused on developing Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technology tools and systems for a range of relevant problems, including tele surveillance/biometric security, digital multimedia security and forensics, quantitative pathology, big data mining and analytics, intelligent transportation, networks security, crowd analysis and computational linguistics. The Center is also conducting pioneering research to secure cyber-physical infrastructure targeting next generation computer and networks, cloud computing and interconnected sensors and devices.\ \ CDAC has extensive expertise in applied computer vision, cryptography and steganography, machine learning, networks security and can offer tailored short courses for industry and academia.
Goals and Objectives
CDAC is committed to the pursuit of excellence in research and innovation, and continues to develop and enhance its research profile and culture. Its overall objective is to be one of the leading centers for Research and Consultancy at the University of Sharjah with the majority of the Centre's research achieving national/international excellence and in terms of originality, significance and rigor. There are currently 22 Faculty Researchers. Research activities within CDAC organized into multidisciplinary research groups, each working in several different areas.\ \ CDAC has identified cybersecurity and data analytics as the key application areas where we have a valuable mix of the necessary enabling technologies and expertise to develop novel solutions for difficult cybersecurity and data analytics problems.\ \ CDAC objectives are primarily three-fold:
- Focus on developing world-leading fundamental algorithms for cybersecurity and data analytics problems.
- Coordinate and integrate our capabilities to be able to deliver cybersecurity and physical and electronic security systems which operate with mobile, multi-sensor and multimodal platforms in real time.
- Develop solutions to solve the cyber security threats of tomorrow, today. We work with industry and government leaders on innovative research that has real societal.
