## Why Foundations of Religion?

The Department of Foundations of Religion at the College of Shari'ah and
Islamic Studies, University of Sharjah, serves as a knowledge center dedicated
to educating students in various scientific fields of Islamic Shari'ah. The
department offers a range of academic programs designed to achieve specific
goals, focusing on developing Muslims who are well-versed in the teachings of
the Holy Quran and Sunna. Students are provided with the opportunity to study
the foundations of several Islamic studies subjects through an extensive
curriculum, acquiring the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to
excel as educators, researchers, and advocates of Islam.

With an emphasis on community services and advancing social and cultural
norms, graduates are equipped to assume a variety of positions in research,
teaching, and volunteer work. Students who have a strong foundation in Islamic
principles and are committed to the values of moderation are well-prepared to
face contemporary issues, contribute in the country's progress, and take on
leadership roles in a variety of industries, such as journalism, education,
religious leadership, and the legal profession. Graduates of the Department of
Foundations of Religion are well-positioned to make significant contributions
to their communities and beyond, guiding a better future through Islamic
principles, with a solid foundation in religious values and a commitment to
lifelong learning.
