Students Discounts Guidelines
These Guidelines are in reference to University Chancellor’s Decision No. (519) issued for the Academic Year 2024/2025 Regarding the amendments to the Structure of the Tuition Fee Discounts.
Introduction
The University of Sharjah ("the University") offers eligible registered students’ various types of tuition fee discounts per semester. These discount schemes are created to boost registration rates for specific programs or courses, encourage higher performance, or acknowledge the price rates and competition in the region.

Undergraduate Students
High School Discount
Discount Scope:
- 50% discount on the first semester tuition fees of all colleges - except medicine and dentistry
Eligibility Criteria
All admitted students with a high school certificate of 90% and above who:
- Have been accepted into any undergraduate program or IEP – Intensive English Program - only
- Have graduated from High school within no more than 5 years. This also applies for students transferring from a different higher education institution with no transfer credit hours. Transfer students with transferred credit hours will not be eligible for the high school discount.
Exclusions:
The high school discount is not applicable to undergraduate students who:
- Are on sponsorship of 50% or above
- Are registered in the College of Medicine or Dental Medicine including the Foundation Year

Distinction Discount
The University offers a distinction discount for highly performing registered students based on their term GPA. Accordingly, the first term discount will only be reflected in the subsequent semester.

2.1.1.1 All colleges (except College of Medicine and Dentistry)

2.1.1.2 College of Medicine and Dentistry

| 85 – 89 | 15% |
Applicability
- This discount is applicable to All UoS registered students.
- A minimum registration of 15 credit hours is required.
Exclusions
- Students on 50% or above sponsorship.
Conditions
- The discount will be based on the semester tuition fees in which the GPA was achieved and reflected as credit balance in the student’s statement of account to be deducted from the same semester balance or next semester fees.
- Students are not eligible to refund the distinction discount credits. In case of late application of discount, students may request a refund only against any excess payment made during registration.
- This discount is not applicable on the last academic term.
Siblings Discount
Discount scope:
- The University offers a 10% siblings discount on all undergraduate programs.
Applicability
- The siblings discount is limited to one member per family.
- The discount will apply to the newly joined family member of a registered student. For family members registering in the same academic year, the discount will apply to the member with the lowest tuition fees or to the member who is not sponsored.
- This discount is not provided automatically to students and will only be applied upon their request.
- The eligible family member must apply for the discount on E-Services after registration and before the end of the term.
- The discount cannot be claimed for previous terms.
Exclusions
- Students of scholarship of 50% or above
UOS Campuses (Khor Fakkan, Kalba and Al Dhaid)
Discount scope
- Students registered in UOS campuses prior to the establishment of the the universities of Khorfakkan, Kalba and Al Dhaid are eligible for a 25% discount on tuition fees.
Exclusions
- Students who are registered in UOS
Other Discounts
UAE Nationals
Discount Scope
- UAE national students can avail 25% discount conditionally and upon proof of financial hardship.
Eligibility
- Registered undergraduate students.
Exclusions
- Students on scholarship of 50% or above
Application
- Application for the discount will be announced twice per academic year – once in Fall & once Spring -via the University Website & students emails.
- The discount announcement will provide students with detailed instructions & the required documents to be submitted.
- The discount is applied once a year against tuition fees upon acceptance of the submitted documents.
Discounts on Academic Programs
College of Sciences
50% discount on tuition fees for the following majors:
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Mathematics

Petroleum Geosciences

Discount is offered on the first year (2 semesters) upon registration.
- A minimum registration of 12 credit/billed hours is required.
- A minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.5 for UAE national students and 3.0 for non-national students is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.
College of Sharia and Islamic Studies
- 50% discount on all undergraduate programs
- Discount is offered on the first year (2 semesters) upon registration.
- A minimum registration of 12 credit/billed hours is required.
- A minimum cumulative GPA (CGPA) of 2.0 is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.
Exclusions
- Students on scholarship of %50 or above
- Not applicable on the summer semester
Post-Graduate
Alumni – Applicable for Academic Year 2025/2026 (new admitted students)
\ Masters
- Upon registration 30% discount will be applied on the semester tuition fee.
- A term GPA of 3.4 or higher is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.
Doctorate
- Upon registration 30% discount will be applied on the first semester tuition fee.
- A term GPA of 3.6 or higher is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.
Non-Alumni – Applicable for Academic Year 2025/2026 (all admitted students)
Masters
- Upon registration, 30% discount will be applied on the first semester tuition fee.
- A term GPA of 3.8 or higher is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.
Doctorate
- Upon registration, 30% discount will be applied on the first semester tuition fee.
- A term GPA of 3.8 or higher is required to maintain the discount in subsequent semesters.\ \ Exclusions: Certain programs are excluded from this discount.
General terms
- Should students meet the criteria for more than one type of discount, only the highest discount will be applicable.
- The University reserves the right to cease any discount or change the rate for any existing discount at any point in time, with or without justification.
