The University of Johannesburg warns all applicants not to fall victim to people trying to scam them out of money by promising admission or a study space at the University of Johannesburg. Do not trust anyone promising to assist you in return for a fee. Admissions to the University are based on academic merit alone.

#### Important information
- Advanced Diploma qualifications are classified as undergraduate. It is however processed (administratively) as a postgraduate qualification due to previous studies involved.
- Applicants can apply online for free.
- In some instances research Masters and Doctoral students are expected to pre-register. Please refer to the specific Faculty/College information to determine whether you need to pre-register.
- Please consult the relevant Faculty/College yearbook to ensure you meet the minimum entrance requirements before applying.
- Applicants may only apply for two study choices per academic year. These study choices may not be amended once they have been chosen.
- Before you submit your online application and upload documents, please visit the relevant faculty/department website to confirm additional documentation that may be required e.g. departmental application form, CV, motivation, thesis etc.
- Applicants transferring from another university/tertiary institution are required to upload a full academic record/transcript and degree/diploma certificate (if applicable). Please refer to “Document upload requirements when applying online” below for more information on uploading of documents.
- All postgraduate applicants are required to submit an official UJ online application. Additional application information might be requested directly from the relevant faculty or department.
- Limited postgraduate studies requires that an applicant complete an online application and a departmentally sanctioned application process as part of their enrolment process with the institution.
- To verify or update your cell number/email details – contact the UJ Call Centre on 011 559 4555.
- The University of Johannesburg would like to alert you that there are individuals /companies claiming to work for, or with the University of Johannesburg and are charging a fee to assist with applications. Online applications are free and we caution you to not fall victim to such a scam.
#### Checklist for applying
- Valid email address ([Gmail](https://www.google.com/gmail/about/) or [Yahoo](https://login.yahoo.com/?.src=ym&.intl=za&.lang=en-ZA&.done=https://mail.yahoo.com) mail account).
- All documents submitted as part of the online application or requested by the University must be certified.
- The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) prohibits the University from processing applications via a third party.
- Closing date for postgraduate curricular courses may differ, please consult closing dates below.
