Program Profile
- Students from international institutions who wish to do research at NYCU (for less than 180 days).
- All applicants must first identify and contact a full-time professor at NYCU to be their research supervisor.
- The Office of International Affairs is not involved in matching students and professors.
- The student must apply three months before the tentative research start date.
- List of professors willing to host NYCU short-term research students.
Eligibility
- International students are currently enrolled in overseas academic institutions.
- **The list of international academic institutions is issued by the Ministry of Education, R.O.C. Please refer to the following link for the Database of the Reference List of Foreign Universities. ** (America, Europe, Asia, Oceania, and Africa).

*The research plan must be written in Chinese or English and no more than two pages long.
*Note: If you are an undergraduate student applying for an internship, you must submit an internship plan. The content should include your specific goals and planned activities during the internship, as well as an explanation of how the internship fulfills your home institution’s graduation requirements.

Invitation letter from the NYCU supervisor\ *It should be formal with the host advisor’s signature, department seal, and contact information.

The latest enrollment letter from the home institution or a student card with an expiry date
*Please ensure that the internship duration does not exceed the enrollment period at your home institution.
*The certificate of enrollment must be issued within the past three months to be considered valid.\ *For undergraduate students applying for an internship:\ Please provide an official certificate of enrollment issued by your home institution in either Chinese or English. The document must clearly indicate the start and end dates of the program and explicitly state that this internship is a graduation requirement as stipulated by your home institution. *For master’s or doctoral students conducting thesis writing or short-term research:\ (1) Only applications from graduate students are accepted.\ (2) Please provide an official certificate of enrollment issued by your home institution in either Chinese or English. The document must clearly state your degree level (Master’s or Doctoral) and the start and end dates of the program.\ *For students applying for a TEEP or IIPP program:\ Please provide proof of current student status, such as an official enrollment certificate or a student ID card showing an expiry date.\

Admissions
- After the application, admitted students will receive an admission letter from OIA. Please note that the approval process typically takes approximately two to three weeks.
- The Division of Overseas Student Affairs will email the “Welcome Package” to admitted students containing registration, arrival information, and dormitory information.
