MOE Taiwan Scholarship

The Ministry of Education (MOE) provides scholarship opportunities for international students pursuing degrees in Taiwan.\ \ How to apply\ Submit an application and required documents directly to the Taiwan overseas representative office.\ \ Scholarship Content                                                                                                       \ Monthly Stipend\ ■ Undergraduate: NT$ 15,000\ ■ Graduate: NT$ 20,000\ \ Tuition Grant\ ■ MOE: A maximum of NT$ 40,000 for each semester, the actual amount will be based on your basic tuition fee.\ ■ NYCU: NYCU will provide an additional grant up to NTD 15,000 per semester if the resipient's total amount of tuition, miscellaneous fees(including basic credit fees) exceed NTD 40,000.\ Refer to Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees\     \ Scholarship duration\ ■ Undergraduate: 4 years\ ■ Master: 2 years\ ■ Ph.D.: 4 years\ \ Important Notes\ ■ Scholarship recipients are required to complete the registration by making the tuition payments and must maintain the academic performance each semester to remain eligible for the scholarship.\ ■ Recipients will receive the scholarship on the 10th of each month, except for January and the start of each semester (September).\ \ Degree Programs Taught in English for MOE Taiwan Scholarship Recipients\ 2026 Academic Year-Degree Programs Taught in English\ \ \ Scholarship Regulation\ Refer to the website for the MOE Taiwan Scholarship Guidelines

MOFA Taiwan Scholarship

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) provides scholarship opportunities for students from countries that have diplomatic relations with Taiwan pursuing degrees in Taiwan.\ \ How to apply\ Submit an application and required documents directly to the Taiwan overseas representative office.\ \ Scholarship Content\ Monthly stipend\ NT$ 33,000\ \ Scholarship duration\ ■ Undergraduate: 4 years\ ■ Master: 2 years\ ■ Ph.D.: 4 years\ \ Important Notes\ ■ Scholarship recipients are required to complete the registration by making the tuition payments and must maintain the academic performance each semester to remain eligible for the scholarship.\ ■ Recipients will receive the scholarship on the 10th of each month, except for January and the start of each semester (September).  \ \ Scholarship Regulation\ Refer to the website for the MOFA Taiwan Scholarship Guidelines

TIGP Scholarship

National Science and Technology Council Graduate Research Fellowship Pilot Program-- NSTC Selection

The program is established by the National Science and Technology Council (hereinafter referred to as NSTC), aiming to build a solid foundation of research talents and reserve talents for core strategic industries. The program awards outstanding Ph.D. students who have demonstrated their potential for significant research contributions and supports them to pursue full-time doctoral degree.\ \ Eligibility Recipients:\ New first-year doctoral students who enroll and begin their studies in February or September of the following year when the NSTC announces the application.\ \ Qualifications:\ The following individuals are not eligible to receive this fellowship:\ \ a.Those who are engaged in full-time paid employment in public or private sectors or who apply for admission as part-time students possessing responsibilities related to employment.\ b.Students with statuses from Hong Kong, Macau, and Mainland China.\ c.Those who have applied for leave of absence and retained their admission eligibility or have not completed registration after admission.\ d.Those who are concurrently in receipt of scholarship or subsidy offered by the ROC government.\ \ Scholarship Amount and Duration:\ Monthly stipend of NT$40,000 for a period of up to 3 years, starting from the first year of the Ph.D. program. Stipend for those who graduate less than three years shall last until the month of graduation.\ \ Submissiion Period and Procedure:\ NSTC Selection: Applicants should log in and upload the required documents on the NSTC website within the specified period. \ NSTC Website\ \ For further information regarding the scholarship, please refer to the attachments.

Taiwan ICDF International Higher Education Scholarship Program

Taiwan International Cooperation and Development Fund (ICDF) Scholarship Program.\ \ Eligibility Recipients

  1. Be a citizen of a country on the List of Countries Eligible for TaiwanICDF Scholarship, and satisfy any specific criteria established by his or her country and/or government of citizenship.
  2. Neither be a national of the Republic of China (Taiwan) nor an overseas compatriot student.
  3. Satisfy the admission requirements of the partner university to which he or she has applied to study under a TaiwanICDF scholarship.
  4. Be able to satisfy all requirements for a Resident Visa (Code: FS) set by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and an Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) set by the Ministry of the Interior, of the ROC (Taiwan) government (this means that the TaiwanICDF has the right to revoke a scholarship offered if an applicant cannot satisfy the visa requirements).
  5. Upon accepting a TaiwanICDF scholarship, not hold any other ROC (Taiwan) government-sponsored scholarship (such as the Taiwan Scholarship) in the same academic year in which the TaiwanICDF scholarship would be due to commence.
  6. Have never had any scholarship revoked by any ROC (Taiwan) government agency or related institution, nor been expelled from any Taiwanese university.

MOE Elite Scholarship

The Ministry of Education (MOE) created the Elite Scholarship Program in order to encourage lecturers from countries in South and Southeast, as well as Africa, to pursue a graduate degree in Taiwan.\ The scholarship is awarded based on recommendations from the college and a review by the scholarship committee, not through the application submitted by the students.\ \ Scholarship Content and Duration\ Monthly stipends NT$ 25,000 and a tuition waiver for 3 years.\ \ Important Notes\ ■ Scholarship recipients are required to complete the registration by making the tuition payments and must maintain the academic performance each semester to remain eligible for the scholarship.\ ■ Recipients will receive the scholarship on the 10th of each month, except for January and the start of each semester (September).\ \
