Can I apply for more than one program?

Applicants are allowed to apply to no more than three departments. If an applicant is accepted by more than one department, the applicant can register and enroll in only one department.

I am in the process of finishing my last semester and therefore have not yet received my diploma, can I still apply?

Yes, you can. If you are in the process of completing your last semester before graduation, please submit a certificate/statement which testify your forthcoming graduation and the expected date of having the official graduation certificate, then upload to our online application system.

What to do after being admitted?

Steps after you are admitted to NYCU\

**1.  Respond to offer of admission**\
Confirm your intent to enroll by responding to the offer on the NYCU admission application system before the designed deadline to secure your place.\

**2.  Receive your admission letter**

Your official admission letter is expected to be issued approximately one month after the admission offer is accepted.\
(If you are admitted with conditions due to incomplete documents submission, your admission letter will be issued after we receive your documents.)\

**3.  Prepare for your arrival**\
Over the next several weeks, Office of International Affairs (OIA) will contact the admitted students via email to provide the welcome package with further information and guide students in preparation before arrival.

(For students admitted in the Spring Semester, this information will be provided in mid-December; for students admitted in the fall semester, it will be provided in mid-June.)\

Application for Visa for Nationals of Specific Countries by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

3. Visa Application Process\
Step 1: Students must complete the visa application, medical examination, and document notarized at the designated Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan Representative Office. A V-number will be provided afterward.\
Step 2: Students must provide their verified documents and V-number to their guarantor in Taiwan (e.g., a supervising professor willing to act as a guarantor).\
Step 3: The guarantor in Taiwan (supervising professor) can proceed with the visa guarantee process upon receiving the student’s materials.\
\
4. Summary of Visa Guarantee Procedure:\
(1)Bring the completed Application Form for ROC Visa Guarantee for Nationals of Specific Countries (stamped by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University) to the Document Office for official seals (stamp it on Application for ROC Visa Guarantee, page 2).\
(2)The student must provide electronic copies of the following documents to the guarantor in Taiwan:\
\*Notarized the highest diploma and full transcript.\
\*Health check report.\
\*Financial statement.\
\*Passport.\
\*Admission letter from the university.\
(3)Fill in the V-number on the ROC Visa Guarantee Review Notification Form (complete Section 3, Application Method, with the V-number obtained from the Taiwan Embassy or Taiwan Representative Office).\
(4) The university (ex., department secretary) will submit all documents to the Visa Division of the Bureau of Consular Affairs (100 Jinan Road Section 1, Taipei City, 4th Floor). 外交部領事事務局簽證組(學生保證書) (100臺北市濟南路1段2之2號4樓)。\
(5)The Bureau will issue another set of numbers to the guarantor in Taiwan, who will then relay the number to the student.\
     The student can use the number to complete the visa process.

Should I be fluent in Chinese to apply?

Apart from the fully English-taught international degree programs, most English-taught courses use English materials; however, if the course is offered by a department where the language of instruction is Chinese, applicants must have at least basic Chinese proficiency at TOCFL Level A2 or above to meet the admission requirements.

Does NYCU charge application fees for submitting application?

There are application fees from the Fall 2022 application. Application fees are NT$2,000 per department, and some colleges do not charge fees. The application fee is not re­fundable.
