Graduate employment

Many of our graduates who do not go onto further study, are employed in a diverse array of fields. Some of these include: government - Victorian Public Service and Australian Public Service (via Graduate Employment Programs); non-government organisations (such as in project coordination, research, policy support and advocacy); and media and communications organisations (such as in  journalism cadetships, communications, online content management and media monitoring).

All our graduates have diverse skills and work in a wide range of occupations, depending on where their passions, experience and opportunities have taken them.

Julia Gillard AC

Julia Gillard graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1989 from the University of Melbourne.

Her distinguished career includes serving as Australia's 27th Prime Minister, being the first female to do so since the country's inception. In 2017, Ms Gillard received the Companion of the Order of Australia (AC) "for eminent service to the Parliament of Australia, particularly as Prime Minister, through seminal contributions to economic and social development, particularly policy reform in the areas of education, disability care, workplace relations, health, foreign affairs and the environment, and as a role model to women."
