As per electoral regulations 2.3 (e) the Returning Officer publishes the proposed penalties that will be imposed on candidates in relation to any breach of the Electoral Regulations by any campaigner or candidate, or groups of campaigners or candidates. Tribunal Members
Powers of the Electoral Tribunal (Clause 13.6 of the GSA Constitution)
The Electoral Tribunal has the power to:
- make Electoral Regulations for the conduct of elections;
- appoint a Returning Officer;
- call elections;
- hear appeals against the results of elections;
- hear appeals of decisions of the Returning Officer;
- declare results of elections; and
- make regulations governing its own proceedings.
