## Entry requirements
Domestic student Change
You're considered a domestic student if you're an Australian or New Zealand citizen, an Australian permanent resident, or have a permanent humanitarian visa. This applies even if you're studying abroad or have dual Australian citizenship.
### Admission criteria
To be considered for entry into this course, you must have:
- An undergraduate degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline AND
- Appropriate prerequisite studies for your stream AND
- A weighted average mark of at least H3 (65%) in the best 25 points of appropriate discipline studies at level 2 or above.
Appropriate disciplines depend on the stream you undertake. These include:
**BioSciences:** Biological Sciences (or equivalent).
**Earth Sciences:** Atmospheric and Ocean Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, Mathematics, or Physics (or equivalents).
**Mathematics and Statistics:** Mathematics and Statistics (or equivalents).
**Physics:** Physics, Mathematical Physics, Chemical Physics (or equivalents).
Where degree levels are referenced, levels align with the [Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)](https://www.aqf.edu.au/framework/aqf-qualifications). Applications are assessed against these standards.
#### Don't meet the prerequisite subject requirements?
You may have the option to enrol in specific single subjects through the University's Community Access Program, even if you are not enrolled in a course. Completing these prerequisite subjects may qualify you for entry into this course. This option is not available to student visa holders or applicants. #### English language requirements

#### **Supervision requirements**
If the stream you are applying for includes a mandatory research component, you will need to meet the following supervision requirements:
- BioSciences: you must find a supervisor before applying
- Earth Sciences: you must find a supervisor before applying.
Please note that the Mathematics and Statistics stream and the Physics stream do not have a research component.
