Moondani Yalingwa

Moondani Yalingwa was established to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students at the University of Melbourne to participate in recreation, fitness and sporting activities.

‘Moondani Yalingwa’ means ‘Embrace Today’ in Woiwurrung, the language of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, on whose land the Parkville Sports Precinct is situated.

Fitness Centre Membership

All Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students are invited to make use of their complimentary Fitness Centre membership. The membership will enable the use of the gym, swimming pool and group fitness classes. To be added to the list of eligible names, please contact Murrup Barrak at admin-murrupbarak@unimelb.edu.au.

Activating your membership

Visit one of the reception desks at theBeaurepaire Centre, Nona Lee Sports Centre, or Lincoln Square Fitness.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact us at memberships-sport@unimelb.edu.au, or come and see one of our friendly staff in our facilities.\

Campus and Community Sport

Want to make new friends and join a team playing lunchtime or evening sport? Sports include Fustal, Netball, Volleyball, Basketball and more. Men's, Women's and Mixed competitions on offer.

MU Sport will subsidise Team entry costs for Campus Sport.

Join a Sporting Club

Compete against other community sporting clubs, test yourself by learning a new martial art or dance, or go on an adventure in the great outdoors. Find out more at the link below.

Represent the University

Pull on the University colours and compete at the Indigenous Nationals or the Uni Nationals. Stay tuned for more information on tryouts and selections.
