## Why study ... Applied Economics?

This programme provides the necessary background for students to carry out rigorous economic analysis in questions of interest for policy and business. The programme offers accordingly advanced knowledge in the core subject areas (econometrics, macroeconomics, microeconomics). Moreover, it offers students the possibility to shape their own profile by concentrating in particular specialization areas: banking and financial markets, behavioural economics, competition and regulation, macroeconomic policy, and policy evaluation.

## After Graduation

The graduates are able to understand practically relevant economic issues using the methods and instruments of economics. They have the ability to check predictions made by theory against data. Graduates of the Applied Economics master’s program are also able to apply economics to specific economic issues. The graduates have knowledge that enables them to take on leading positions in business, administration or politics.
