The European University Association is the representative organisation of both the European universities and the national rectors' conferences.

Mission and Aims: to promote the development of a coherent system of European higher education and research through active support and guidance to its members as autonomous institutions in enhancing the quality of their teaching, learning and research as well as their contributions to society.

Main focus: Strengthening the role universities play in the emerging European Higher Education and European Research Areas (EHEA and ERA), working with member institutions to improve quality and strengthen individual universities' European profiles, to promote common policies and enhance the visibility of European higher education in a global context.
