The Centre for Doctoral Studies is the central point of contact for questions concerning the doctorate at the University of Vienna. The team of the Center for Doctoral Studies advises (prospective) doctoral candidates on the process and organisation of the doctorate, including admission and main milestones, on funding opportunities and on personal and professional development. For all questions concerning the research project, the supervisors are the most important contact persons. For discipline-specific enquiries, please contact your Doctoral School at the Faculty.

You are interested in a PhD at the University of Vienna and would like to get an overview of the doctoral programmes, the requirements and the organisation of the doctorate at the University of Vienna. In monthly info sessions you can inform yourself about the possibilities of a doctorate at the University of Vienna.

Topic-specific online meetings

You are thinking about doing a PhD but are not sure what it involves and whether it is the right choice for you, or how to find a supervisor and how to manage the admission procedure or have questions about visa and residence permit. In these one hour online sessions we discuss these questions.
