# Classical Philology (Bachelor)

The bachelor's programme in Classical Philology provides students with extensive knowledge of antique language and culture. In addition, students get an introduction to the interpretation of antique works of literature, as well as the impact history of antique thought. The degree programme aims to equip students with the necessary skills for critical and systematic academic research.

Students have to provide evidence of knowledge of Latin before admission. In addition, they have to provide evidence of knowledge of Greek by the end of the degree programme.

## Study programme

The bachelor's programme in Classical Philology consists of an Introductory and Orientation Period (STEOP), a phase of basic education, compulsory modules on antiquity studies and Greek, and the specialisations in either Latin or Greek studies. To successfully complete the bachelor’s programme, students have to write a bachelor's thesis.
