The Master's degree programme in Philosophy at the University of Vienna serves to deepen the philosophical knowledge and skills acquired in the Bachelor's degree programme. The Master's programme conveys a broad understanding of different philosophical questions, traditions and styles and supports students in developing their own competence profile through individual specialisation. The Master's programme teaches students the ability to analyse and evaluate philosophical texts professionally, to develop their own arguments and to communicate these clearly.

## Study Programme
The degree programme consists of an introductory phase with the compulsory modules Philosophical Research and Methods, CentralTopics in Practical Philosophy and Central Topics in Theoretical Philosophy as well as a main phase in which 60 ECTS credits must be completed in the elective module group H1-H16.
This is followed by the final phase with thesis workshop, Master's thesis and Master's examination.
