The bachelor’s programme in German Philology combines German literature and language studies; philology and linguistics.

During the first half of the degree programme, you will acquire basic scientific knowledge and competences in the four areas of studies: modern German literature, medieval German literature, linguistics and German as a foreign and second language. At a more advanced stage in your studies, the curriculum provides you the opportunity to set individual focal points: You can specialise in individual subject areas through freely selectable courses and complete a non-university internship. Thereby, you can individualise your qualification profile and adapt it to your professional goals and subsequent master's programmes.
