The safety of all employees and students is very important to us. Violence, threats, or stalking are not tolerated at the University of Vienna.

In acute cases

If you have an acute emergency or are in immediate danger, please contact the security team immediately on +43 1 4277 777 and/or the police directly on 133. Link to the security team: rrm.univie.ac.at/services/sicherheit

All members of the university community are responsible for recognising threatening behaviour. If you notice any of the following behaviours, please contact Threat Management so that professional help can be provided quickly:

All university members can contact the Threat Management Team at any time.

All reports will be handled quickly and confidentially.

You can reach the Threat Management Team by email: bedrohungsmanagement(at)univie.ac.at.

The Threat Management Team offers support to those affected by stressful threatening situations. Incoming reports are reviewed objectively and in a standardised manner to determine their relevance, the risk is assessed and a decision is made on how to proceed. The focus is on preventing violence.

Threat management always means creating a trusting relationship. Discretion, fairness, no premature judgements and the protection of the privacy of all those involved are our top priorities. At the same time, threat management means resolutely standing up for the safety of everyone at the university.
