Study astronomy

Welcome to the Department of Astronomy!

The Department of Astronomy conducts teaching and research that covers the entire field of astronomy. The department also houses the Institute of Solar Physics.

Course and programmes at our department

The Department of Astronomy offer teaching covering a wide range of topics within the field of astronomy all the way up to postgraduate level.

Our research

Research into several different topics within astronomy and astrophysics is conducted at the Department of Astronomy. The research contains both observational and theoretical work.

The Institute for Solar Physics

The Institute for Solar Physics is part of the department. Their pages contain more information about current solar physics research.

The Oskar Klein Center (OKC)

Th OKC combines particle physicists, cosmologers, and astronomers from departments at Stockholm University and KTH.

The Swedish Astronomical Society

The Swedish Astronomical Society contains professional, amateur astronomers, and other people interested in astronomy.

An international institute for research in theoretical physics including astrophysics.
