Digital development for humans and society

Welcome to the Department of Computer and Systems Sciences

Digitalisation and IT development affect us as individuals, in our working lives, and as citizens. The field of computer and systems sciences is therefore highly relevant to society. With more than 200 employees and 4,500 students, the department provides a strong and dynamic environment for research and education.

Towards fair and transparent AI

“One could see AI as a little baby that is slowly growing up,” says Panagiotis Papapetrou.

Record-breaking number of applications to DSV

DSV continues to attract master’s students. The topic of Computer and Systems Sciences dominates Stockholm University’s list of the most popular programmes.

“AI is changing storytelling in games”

Mirjam Palosaari Eladhari develops intelligent agents, AI systems designed to behave like humans, complete with emotions and moods.
