Courses and programmes
The Department offers a choice of courses and Programs, both at Bachelor and Advanced level. We also offer Post-graduate education, which leads to a Ph D degree within the areas of Romance languages and Classical languages.
Our research
Research at the Department is conducted within a wide range of fields, especially within Linguistics and Literature, but also the Social Sciences.
Classical Languages
Research in Classics at Stockholm University chiefly concerns language, textual criticism and philological studies
French
A language with a long history, which developed from the spoken Latin.
Italian
Italian Studies at Stockholm university consist of five main areas
NILAS Library
The Latin America Library is a part of the library of Stockholm University. It is the largest social science library aimed at Latin American in the Nordic countries. It is open to the public.
Latin American Studies
An interdisciplinary research area with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean
Portuguese
Research in Portuguese at Stockholm University focuses on the languages, literatures and cultures of the Portuguese-speaking world
Spanish
As an academic subject, contains a broad range of research-fields, in both linguistics and the study of literature
