Maastricht University, the European university in The Netherlands, is committed to nurturing an inclusive culture. As aEuropean university with a global outlook, we are aware and proud that our strength lies in diversity. We strive to go well beyond quotas and compliance: we are determined to foster an environment in which everyone feels welcome and valued.

Being a sustainable and caring university is therefore also the foundation of UM's Strategic Programme 2022-2026.

We strive to include staff and students from all walks of life to participate in the wonderful community at UM. From guest speaker events to long-term projects funded by the DEI Grants, there is always something you can get involved with and join in. As a family-friendly university, we aim to facilitate study and career for students and staff with caring responsibilities.

We’re changing our name to DEI+

The Diversity & Inclusivity Office is now the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion+ Office (DEI+). Our new name reflects our commitment to equity and the integration of the Sexual Safety Programme Team into our office. You may still see our old name in some places while we update our website. Thank you for your patience during this transition.

Want to join our team?

We’re looking for two new colleagues:

  1. Strategic Communications Advisor DEI+ and Sustainability (joint role with the Sustainability Office)
  2. DEI+ Policy Advisor

The closing date for both roles is 15 March.

If you’re excited by work that makes our university community fairer, more inclusive and more sustainable, we’d love to hear from you!

Know someone who could be a great fit? Please share! Both positions are open to applicants within and outside Maastricht University.
