Would you like to expand your horizon? Do you want to add an extra dimension to your UM study experience? UM students often have the opportunity to spend time abroad during their degree programme.

Going abroad often means an unforgettable experience, giving you insights into another country and culture, broadening your skills set, and boosting your career opportunities and personal development.

Orientation

Are you thinking about doing an exchange or internship abroad? Or is this even a mandatory part of your study programme at UM? Then start by orienting yourself.

Establish clear goals for yourself. What do you want to study abroad? What kind of work experience interests you? What would you like to achieve? Once you know this, you can decide what best fits your goals. All UM faculties offer various options. For instance, you may be able to participate in an exchange programme offered by your faculty or have the possibility to find an internship yourself.

Most students go abroad during the second or third year of their bachelor’s programme. By then, you often know which courses best fit your goals and ambitions. Please make sure to check whether it fits into your schedule: study periods are not always synchronised across universities.
