# Dutch language course

## Dutch language course

Right from the first group lesson, you will actively engage with the Dutch language! You will learn to listen, speak, read and write. Attention will also be paid to grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. You will practise with your fellow students through various communicative assignments. The emphasis in the lessons is on speaking and listening skills, while reading and writing assignments are mainly given as homework. Of course, in addition to the language, you will also learn about Dutch culture. During the lessons, communication will be in Dutch as much as possible. If necessary, the teacher will provide explanations in English. You can learn Dutch at levels A1 to C1 with us.

**Costs:**

- **UM-Students: € 300 per module,**
- **UM staff, alumni and MUMC staff:**\
  **€ 475 per module**
- **Non-UM participants: € 605 per module.**

## Intake

UM students, staff and external participants are welcome to join the course.

If you have no prior knowledge of Dutch, you can simply register for Dutch A1 by using our registration form. After registering, you will receive a confirmation.

If you already have some knowledge of the language and would like to join a non-beginners group then please schedule an online intake.

Book an intake well before the course is scheduled to begin. This process will make it easier to make the appointment, and more likely that there will still be an available spot in the module that’s right for you.

## Certificate and ECTS credits

After successfully completing a course, you will receive a certificate. To be eligible for a certificate, you must attend at least 12 of the 14 lessons, be present at the final exam and have satisfactory results. One course is worth 3 ECTS credits. Whether these credits are acknowledged depends on your faculty. Please consult with your faculty / home university if these credits will be accepted as part of your programme.
