Equal Opportunities - Events and Series

In collaboration with Departments and academic Centers, the University of Padua annually organizes events and series on the subject of equality, rights and inclusion. Aimed at the academic community and the local community, these initiatives fall in conjunction with International Women's Day on 8 March and the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 25 November and more. Such initiatives also engage with local schools to support and encourage students in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) disciplines.

The Annual Incroci di genere Series\ An annually held series of meetings focused on the comparison between women and men of the University and the local community. The series gives a voice to the discussion of gender through the art of subjective writing and lived experience of subjects in a transformative method that reaches beyond stereotypes.\ More information (italian website)

Words and Actions for Gender Equality\ The University of Padua works to promote well-being while eliminate any form of discrimination, violence, or gender-related stereotypes with its institutional actions through cultural and educational interventions. Between November and December, meetings proposed by the University will promote gender equality including that of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.\ More information

Project NERD\ Thanks to the collaboration with the University of Padua and IBM, the NERD project aims of spreading the passion for IT and digital skills among female students during their third year of high school. The project encourages young women to consider undertaking university courses in the field of STEM disciplines (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).\ More information (italian website)
