Changing the degree programme within the University of Padua
The course change is a procedure that allows students enrolled in a degree program at the University of Padua to transfer to another bachelor's degree, single-cycle master's degree, or master's degree program within the University. There are specific requirements for requesting a course change, and the necessary information is available in the following document, which outlines what needs to be done (and known) before submitting a course change request, or alternatively, the application for withdrawal and new enrollment:
It is advisable to review the indicated document well in advance of the start of the academic year, as some deadlines (such as those for the recognition of previous university credits for those intending to request it) are set as early as July 2024.
For admission purposes, the timing of the application submission by the student (which must be submitted within the deadlines set by the degree program) and its compliance with the requirements and submission procedures are taken into consideration. The course change application is processed after submission and finalized within a few working days, even after the deadlines.
Bachelor's and single-cycle degrees
In order to change your degree programme within the University of Padua and continue with your studies, please follow the procedure below:
- If you wish to ask for the recognition of credits from your previous studies (please check Recognition of previous studies). Please consider that for limited access degree programmes, admission to a year subsequent to the first depends on available places. You may be required to sit an entry test.
- If you do not wish to ask for the recognition of credits OR if you are considered eligible for admission to the first year, you are required to apply for the degree programme you are interested in as a first year student (please check How to apply)
English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes\ Please note that applications for limited access English-taught Bachelor’s degree programmes close on March 7: it is highly recommended to apply as a first year student within the deadline set in the Call for admissions and ask for the recognition of previous studies on a later stage. Candidates eligible to change degree programme will be required to pay a €16 fee and to submit the Changing degree programme application form provided by the Admissions and Welcome unit in due time.
