## Progression warning
You will receive a **progression warning** letter from the relevant Associate Dean/Provost if your module results in the preceding semester put you at risk of not gaining enough credits in the current academic year to meet Senate Regulations on [minimum progression rates](https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/students/academic/academic-advising/rules/mode-of-study/full-time/progression/).

The progression warning letter will explain the risk and its potential consequences (your studies being placed under [probation](https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/students/academic/intervention/probation-warning/)). You may be required to meet your [Adviser of Studies](https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/students/academic/academic-advising/advisers-of-studies/ "Home%20%BB%20University%20%BB%20Current%20Students%20%BB%20Academic%20test%20%BB%20Academic%20advising%20%BB%20Advisers%20of%20studies"), the relevant Associate Dean and or Provost, or Director of Teaching, [Student Services](https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/about/professional-services/student-services/) or the [International Education and Lifelong Learning Institute](https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/lifelong-learning/), and in any case you will be encouraged to get in contact if you need clarification or help.
