Our Mission Statement

As a lynchpin for Global St Andrews, our mission is to inform, enable, support, and co-ordinate the University’s ambitions to maintain and extend its global reach, relationships, influence and reputation. We do so through collaboration, and by identifying and maximising opportunities globally to enhance student experience, research connectivity, funding streams and income generation.

Our Role

The Global Office is responsible for managing strategic, multi-dimensional partnerships; providing coordinated support for key Global activities which are cross-institution and which enhance student experience, academic reputation and research connectivity internationally; and supporting the alignment of Global services to ensure a consistent approach and a seamless service for academics, students and external stakeholders.

In addition to a range of partnerships and networks globally, the Global Office manages our strategic partnerships with the University of Bonn, Charles University, Emory University, the University of Padua and William & Mary. These partnerships span education, research and professional services. We also support colleagues to develop new international links and collaborations.

The Global Office manages the business of the University’s International Committee and takes forward projects and initiatives identified by the Committee in support of the University of St Andrews Strategy.

We also co-ordinate the University's Sanctuary status, working closely with colleagues across the University to support and promote Sanctuary initiatives and projects, and ensuring a joined-up and supportive service for students and staff from forced migration backgrounds.

Our Team

The Global Office Team comprises 17 colleagues who work closely and collaboratively to support a wide range of international engagement activities.
