The career journey is a framework designed to support students and graduates of the University of St Andrews to assess their career options and form a plan of action to develop a meaningful career.

There are three stages of the journey:

  1. Explore
  2. Develop
  3. Make it happen

You could be at any of these stages, regardless of whether you are a current undergraduate or postgraduate student, or you have already graduated. It may be worth reflecting on where you are on this journey as you read the summaries below.

Each stage includes suggestions about what you could do to further your career development.

Whatever stage you are at, the Careers Centre can support you in identifying and achieving your career ambitions.

Explore

Understand yourself; gain insight and inspiration.

Develop

Focus and go deeper; try things out.

Make it happen

Get ready; review and reflect.
