Our program stands out for its multilingual focus, interdisciplinary approach, and commitment to bridging academic knowledge with professional practice. Grounded in a strong tradition of translation theory and ethics, it engages with the evolving realities of today’s translation landscape.

Since the early 2000s, the rise of digital technologies and the Internet has transformed translation practices, requiring inter- and cross-disciplinary study to ensure proper understanding and better training for language professionals. Fields like audiovisual translation have expanded with new technologies, encompassing subtitling, surtitling, live subtitling, dubbing, voice-over, audio description, and more, each demanding distinct skills and strategies. Emerging approaches, such as sensory translation in the performing arts, blend auditory and visual elements to create inclusive experiences.

Digital technologies have also made non-professional translators more visible, including volunteers, activists, and fan communities. Translators today may also contribute to post-production, advertising campaigns, and user experience testing on social media and forums. These developments reflect the ever-evolving nature of the profession.

The 2025–26 cohort will be our first to include students from a wide range of academic backgrounds, including languages, literature, humanities, social sciences, and sciences. This multilingual, multicultural, and multidisciplinary profile enriches classroom discussions, fostering diverse perspectives on both practical and theoretical issues.

Our courses promote critical reflection, cultural awareness, and advanced translation competence in at least two working languages. Whether students aim to build careers in the language industry, pursue further academic research, or contribute to multilingual knowledge exchange and cultural dialogue, the program offers a strong foundation and a stimulating intellectual environment.
