The York Robotics Laboratory is a purpose-built state-of-the-art research facility for robotics design, construction, research and teaching.

It includes an 80-square metre arena space with high ceilings, which allows research involving drones, and multiple tracking and controllable lighting systems, enabling repeatability and accurate analysis of experiment results.

The YRL was established in 2012 and is run as a joint venture between the Departments of Computer Science and the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology. The space is available for robotics-related research by departments across the entire university.

It is located on Baird Lane on Campus East, close to the Department of Computer Science, the School of Arts and Creative Technologies building and the Ron Cooke Hub.
