“At IMRY, we’re driving bold and collaborative research, working with partners across disciplines to improve how we understand, prevent, and treat mental health conditions.”
Professor Scott Cairney, Director, the Institute of Mental Health Research at York.
Working across the Sciences, Social Sciences, and Arts and Humanities, we focus on understanding how mental health problems emerge, persist, and resolve, with the goal of improving prevention, treatment, and recovery.
We collaborate with external partners across the NHS, social care, education, academia, the justice system, industry, charities, and communities to ensure our research is grounded in real-world challenges.
Through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches, we generate evidence that informs better policies, practices, and interventions, helping to improve lives and strengthen communities.
