Academic services across the University are aware of the different needs you have when studying at a distance from campus. Staff can help you by email, phone or Skype/Google chat.

Library

You can contact the Library 24/7 through the Library Helpdesk and Library chat service. Browse the Library pages to find out about accessing online resources, using the Scan and Send service, and how to borrow resources from other libraries near you.

IT Services

IT Services can help you connect to the University network and your filestore, obtain free or discounted software to install on your own computer, and access eduroam wifi when visiting other universities. See the IT Services pages for online IT training guides.

Writing Centre

Access support from the Writing and Language Skills Centre via email or Google Hangout. Send an example of your writing and receive feedback within five working days.

Maths Skills Centre

The Maths Skills Centre provides access to online resources. You can book 60 minute appointments for mathematics and statistics advice and learning support via web conference.

Academic progress issues

Anything that stops you from undertaking your studies in the usual way is officially called an academic progress issue. If you have any concerns about your studies you should talk to your academic supervisor in the first instance.
