Welcome to the York Centre for Conflict and Security (YCCS), a major new interdisciplinary centre for research and practice examining Global Security Challenges and the causes of international and civil conflicts around the world.
Led by the Department of Politics and International Relations, with partners worldwide we use interdisciplinary and innovative approaches to tackle security challenges across the Globe. Our team have worked with a wide range of policy-makers, think-tanks, charities and practitioners, including the UN, the Foreign Office, the EU, and RUSI.
We host a range of PhD students conducting work on conflict and security challenges around the world.
