Liberal Arts & Professional Studies

Communication, Social Media & Public Relations is a new stream in the existing Communication & Media Studies (BA) program.

Offered exclusively at the new Markham Campus, this program will help you develop a solid foundation in communication and media studies while pursuing an intensive focus on the study of social media and public relations. Acquire research experience, analytical skills and expertise in communicating across multimedia formats with an emphasis on ethics and a commitment to social justice and transformation. The program also includes experiential education and placement opportunities, to support you in navigating future career or academic pursuits.

Equip Yourself:

• Communicate effectively to different audiences in a variety of formats (oral, visual, textual) using a range of communication and media practices, technologies and platforms.
• Apply relevant ethical, historical, critical and current communication and media studies frameworks to critically understand the sociocultural, political, economic, technological and environmental dimensions of social media and public relations.
