Get started checklist

1. Set up your IT account and password

Your account gives you access to your University email account and IT systems, including the virtual learning environment (VLE).

2. Set up two-factor authentication (2FA)

We use two tools for authentication. Set them both up immediately to avoid access issues.

3. Connect to wifi

Wifi is available across campus and the city of York.

4. Stay cyber safe

Every year, students are targeted by cyber criminals. Follow our steps to keep your information safe, avoid risks and strengthen your security wherever you are – at work, at home and on the go.
